The updated HSBC Expat Explorer Experience survey results are in for 2012 and Asia is in the lead when it comes to countries that have expatriates with a satisfied experience. More specifically, expats in Thailand (2nd), Singapore (4th), Malaysia (5th) and Hong Kong (12th) have reported being pleased with their transition abroad for numerous reasons.
A few specific areas that expats living in Asia are pleased with include accommodation, transportation and social life.
The HSBC Expat Explorer survey results are based on the answers of more than 5,000 expats throughout 30 countries around the world. Based on these surveys, there is an above average number of expatriates in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore who have reported experiencing an increase in the quality of life after moving to Asia:
- Malaysia: 72%
- Thailand: 83%
- Singapore: 76%
