The survey consisted of 10,000 individuals from 20 countries around the world and is based upon what countries they perceived to be the happiest. Here are cities that individuals around the world think will put a smile on your face:
#10 Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires is on the list thanks to Rio de Janeiro. Due to the close proximity to Rio de Janeiro in comparison to the other cities that voters were able to choose from, it has made the cut and landed a spot as the tenth happiest city in the world.
With all of the lights, bridges and love in the air, the beauty of Paris has made this city number nine on the list.
Rome is busting at the seams with history and a perceived love for life- if you are looking for a happier place to call home you won’t to skip over Rome when exploring other cities.
#7 San Francisco
If you are looking to relocate to the US, you might want to look into San Francisco. This is the only city within the US on this list and it made the cut thanks to the available shopping centers and perceived abundance of fun.
Madrid is the Capital of Spain, but that’s surprisingly not why it’s on the list. It was ranked in sixth place due to the abundance of culture and the high standard of living.
Although Melbourne is well known for their arts, it takes the place as the fifth happiest city simply because it’s located inside Australia.
This location ranked in the top five happiest cities in the world thanks to it being a city where many younger individuals perceive as an entertaining location. Amsterdam is a city where boredom will be hard to find.
Soccer, culture and warm weather. These three factors helped Barcelona snag the third happiest city in the world title in this survey!
The carefree Aussie way is to thank for giving Sydney the name as the second happiest city in the world. Just as with Melbourne, Sydney was ranked as the second happiest city because it’s a larger city inside of Australia.
#1 Rio de Janeiro
The city perceived to be the happiest in the world is Rio de Janeiro! As host to many outdoor and cultural attractions, many individuals hold this city in high regard when it comes to finding the perfect city to live in- and placed their vote for Rio de Janeiro.
Of course the happiness of individuals in these cities is not directly linked with this survey or going to guarantee each new comer happiness, but if you want to become an expat in a happy city, you might want to try your luck and consider one!
