List of International German Hospitals
The number of hospitals in Germany totals in excess of 2,000. Just about 50% of the hospitals in Germany are public, and among those, 30% are university hospitals. The other half of hospitals in Germany are private with 30% being not-for-profit and the remainder for-profit. Many hospitals in Germany have services for international citizens.
Like everything else in Germany, German hospitals are modern and hold themselves to high-quality standards; particularly those offering private health services. Physicians and staff are well-trained, and a German hospital will give you an excellent variety of specialized treatments. You may also locate many specialists (e.g. internist or radiologist) outside hospitals in Germany, meaning you do not even have to go to a hospital outside of emergency situations.

Be forewarned the smaller private hospitals in Germany may not offer emergency services. You’ll typically get treatment even if you can’t provide proof of health insurance when you arrive in an emergency room. Should you have no insurance, treatment and admittance will be extremely expensive. You’ll want to check with your global health insurance provider before traveling to Germany and see if they’re going to reimburse you for medical treatment in the event you are in need of seeing a doctor while abroad.
